Some individuals know about this term while there are others who don’t. The idea is that when an individual is at the end of his or her golf game the last possible thing you want to do is be uncomfortable about the shot you are about to make. In fact, its been proven that many golfers get nervous in this area and even more so when it comes to the short putt.
According to experts there are three different drills that an individual can actually learn to assist the putting out in a really big way. Trainers even claim that by learning the three steps improves a person’s putting average.
The first step is to practice enhanced mechanics when at the hole. You can simply place a few golf balls one or two feet apart and from the cup on the practice area of the green. Of course the second step to this is in the way an individual is standing. Position and stance of your body is really important. Now, without having any type of real back swing just begin pushing the ball towards the hole. Repeat tapping the ball until it has gone into the cup or hole.
Then, move back a few feet and repeat the process again and again. Amazingly, this produces that push feel against the golf ball and an individual is really training the body to accelerate by using your body rather than your legs when playing golf.
Of course there is another part of this type of training, which is learning to read the line. Focusing on an imaginary chalk line from you to the hole. Considering at this point in a golf game the distance isn’t really that great, an individual has the capability to imagine a straight line quite easily. Not only does this improve your focusing potential but will also teach you ways to limit your acceleration on putting the ball.
It is really important to be sure you are on a short green rather than a long one when practicing these drills. Simply because the farther away from the hole you are the more difficult it is going to be. Putting techniques can differ however many golfing experts use these exact techniques just to stay in tune with the short shots they have to make during a golf game.
In addition, trainers will tell an individual that if they are more than ten feet away the this drill for putting and the techniques won’t have much of an effect for the individual’s putting performance.
So, this is really where the term “knee knockers” in a golf game comes from. It is due to the fact that many golfers don’t practice putting a lot and are so nervous the knees get weak and knock, although that is figuratively speaking. To golfers it is just better to learn to putt.
